Mercedes - Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013 is now ancient history by the fashion calendar but the memories of a dazzlingly glamour filled week live on.

With an average of 12-15 shows a day on site and off, no way will you see it all. It was a week filled with highlights both on and off the runway. South African designer David Tlale returned to MBFW with another great collection. Phaedra Parks (Real Housewives of Atlanta) and vocalist Monique Bingham were among the visitors who came to Lincoln Center to view the collection. Carolina Herrera, Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, DVF, and the dynamic Zang Toi are some of our favourites who were back in force this season.

The street style photographers were out in full force. In spite of the low temperatures fashionistas were visibly showing off their best looks. The style raged uninhibited in the IMG lobby both in and out of the tents. This season the IMG lobby was alive with the sounds of a great troupe of djs headed up by veteran music man Bill Coleman. A wide and eclectic selection f music from House to reggae had most of the visitors moving at least a little throughout the week.

So now more about the collections, the trends for the fall are bright bold, and earthy at the same time. Vera Wang’s pallet contrasted some bright floras against greys and earthier tones. Carolina Herrera's designs incorporated her love of elegant silhouettes with bold and strong prints. We also saw a lot of embellished gowns and skirts. Monique Lhuiller's beautifully embroidered skirts were a definite hit on the runway this season. The glamorous gowns from Venexiana evoke a sense of style from decades past and are never a disappointment. DVF brought the party to the runway with prints that had a touch of Glam-rock. The models walked the runway to Donna Summer's "Love to Love You Baby" and Andrea True's "More, More, More."  We also saw the return of Betsey Johnson to the tents with her active wear collection "Betsey Kicks A". Designer b. Michael ended the last night of shows with a superb and elegant collection that made the last night at Lincoln Center just as exciting as the first. All in all it was a great week of fashion and style with new trends as well as some past trends that were revisited. All in all an impressive season of fashion!
