Fashion & Style

The most wonderful time of the year is here and no, we're not talking about the holidays. It's officially NYFW and whether you’re able to make it to the big apple or if you’ll opt for stalking the blogs and internet this week, being fashionable is a MUST. Thankfully you don’t have to wait for the models to hit the runway before you decide what to wear. I’ve rounded up 4 Fall trends that are still relevant and still chic for NYFW 2015.

Oversized Coats

Maybe the only transitional piece you’ll need this season, an oversize coat is timeless. You can never go wrong pairing this coat with pretty much any outfit you desire. For NYFW I like to go with a lightweight option, maybe even one without sleeves to add a bit of character while being practical. Fall is a tricky season so it’s always good to have an extra layer in case it gets chilly and what better way to do that with an oversize coat?

Last season was all about the mixed prints. You couldn’t open up a magazine or read a fashion blog without seeing beauties rocking a variety a prints paired with an excerpt about how you too could mix prints the right way. While mixing may not be your thing, prints are still very much in and don’t shy away from them this NYFW season. You can keep it simple with printed accessories or be bold and style a pair of printed pants.

Winter White

That ancient no white after labor day rule has BEEN gone. Who says you can’t wear white all year round? We sure don’t. Last year winter white was huge on the runway and—I may be biased but—for good reason. White is one of those classic colors that can never go out of style. So go ahead and effortlessly layer on your white for this years festivities and make a statement.

To my self proclaimed girly girls, I say to you do not miss out on the menswear trend. I’ll admit took me awhile to get used to this one myself being the type of gal who feels like her outfit isn’t complete without heels but trying out men inspired fashion is actually pretty chic and style. I like to style a structured blazer or some flashy oxfords but you can take this one all the way adding tailored pants and a button up.
