David Tlale has been a busy man since his last appearance at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Teaming up with textile powerhouse Vlisco, a t.v. show based on his internship program are just some of the things he has been up to. His collection at MBFWA received rave reviews, and he brought some of that same magic to MBFW S2015. For this collection he drew inspiration from the traditions of Africa. he also wanted to reflect that confident, strong woman that is a symbol of the "David Tlale" woman. That woman can be anyone in the world, anywhere in the world. It was this kind of strength that radiated from the army of models led by Tyson Beckford that opened his spring collection in the Pavilion space at Lincoln Center.
His partnership with Vlisco continues and the prints were amazingly beautiful and brilliant. David Tlale's reputation for craftsmanship is well deserved, and was on display as the models moved down the runway.
Kaleidoscope print shorts, and skirts were perfectly complimented by the well tailored white shirts. The rest of the collection moved into a variety of pink hued designs. Orange toned shorts were superbly embroidered. As always the work in impeccable. The second half of the collection brought separates in hues of pink, and orange. We also saw metallic influences in dynamic satin gowns, pants, and shorts. The crowd was mesmerized by the time David Tlale and Tyson Beckford took the final walk to close the show.
