Nicholas and Christopher Kunz got NYFW SS2017 started early at 9am on September 9th.It was the first show of the day. Before the actual show began there was a brilliant tribute to the late Bill Cunningham the celebrated photographer who had past away weeks before. The photographers in the press pit were all presented with replicas of Bills signature blue work jacket. It was a fitting tribute to the man who became pioneered street photography.

The collection was an amazing synthesis of concept and design . Models walked the runway in garments that flowed effortlessly. Perfect for spring days and warm summer nights. The colors of were perfect for a landscapes where you might find sand, and desert environments. Simply draped and knotted garments, were complemented delicate silks and floppy hats and visors to offset the days rays. The inspiration for the collection was taken from the 2014 film Theeb,The film is about a young boy from a Bedouin tribe who struggles to survive after entering the Wadi Rum desert. Nicholas K. brings  a post-apocalyptic aesthetic to his  Spring/Summer 2017 collection that is both new and familiar. As always Nicholas K. never disappoints. We look forward to next season.
