United Colors of Fashion : Faith Hope Fashion Third Annual Gala

On October 9th the 3rd Annual United Colors (UCOF) presented an amazing night of fashion at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City. United Colors of Fashion  was founded in 2010, UCOF is a New York City-based non-profit organization that provides a free fashion education and mentoring program to under-resourced youth in New York City. The organization also offers financial assistance, food, and clothing to youth in South Africa who are living with HIV/AIDS, sickle-cell anemia and paralysis.

Seven international designers showcased their collections: David Tlale, Marc Bouwer, Naked Ape by Shaldon Kopman, Ron n’ Ron, Sukeina, Kosibah, and Carmen Marc Valvo. UCOF ambassador, and winner of "The Face" Devyn represented the organization by being present for the event,  and walking in the show as well. Other highlights of the event included legendary supermodel Pat Cleveland receiving a 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Honorary Chair Fern Mallis. The event also honored Sade Solomon, UCOF’s student, who presented her first collection, and received the  Achiever of the Year award. This amazing event was produced by Jan Malan and associates, their hard work helped to make the event the huge success that is was. Among the Board members present at the event were; Sandi Bass, and Ciano Clerjuste. Funds raised from the event will allow UCOF to continue to empower youth through fashion. We are certainly looking forward to the next United Colors of Fashion  gala.
