These talented individuals have made significant contributions to the arts and culture scene in the Caribbean region. Monéa

Known for her catchy female anthems, international recording artist, Monéa, has coined her sound ‘Tropikana’ – a fusion of Dancehall with other genres such as Pop and Rap. With addictive melodies accompanied by bold, relatable lyrics, the Monéa brand is focused on showing the multifaceted nature of women; empowering them to demand the best in all aspects of life. Hailing from the British Virgin Islands, her biggest hit ‘Inna Di World’ featuring international Dancehall superstar Dexta Daps has over 3M streams on digital platforms and 4M views on YouTube. Other hits include ‘Big Jam’ with the late Virgin Islands Soca star Kylo, ‘Greenlight’, ‘Gypsy’ and more recently, ‘Big Boss’.

Not only has she performed in The Caribbean and USA, she went on her first European tour with Dexta Daps in 2020. Stops included London (O2 Arena), Amsterdam, Leicester and she appeared on BBC1 Extra. She is a well sought out performer within her region, opening for Dancehall acts such as Valiant and 450 and even headlining her own concert on St Thomas, USVI in 2023. Monéa continues to expand her market with the help of her fan base, ‘The Monarchy’.

Delicia Patterson

Delicia has over 20 years experience in the Entertainment industry. During her childhood, she was always eager to learn new creative talents which set the pace for her career. Her first official job was at the Piarco International Airport where her proudest moment was welcoming Nelson Mandela’s private flight, during a Diplomatic visit.

Some of her certified qualifications include Account Management, Public Relations, Human Resources, Radio Broadcasting, Production and others. With a progressive mindset, she decided to enhance her job experiences and started employment with Entertainer Neil ‘Iwer’ George at his radio station in Trinidad & Tobago, as a News Presenter/ Editor. Simultaneously she also hosted a few segments on a local TV Program. Delicia is a former member of many promotional committees for nightclubs, private events and concerts.

After taking a hiatus from entertainment, she spent a few years at two financial institutions excelling in Customer Service, Auditing and Account Management. Presently, this ‘go getter’ has vowed to partner with several stakeholders to implement youth, social & economical initiatives in vulnerable communities.

Her present services include Talent & Event Management, Media Relations & Communication, Volunteer work, Mentoring and Coaching.  She currently manages Reggae/ Dancehall Artist ‘Jahllano’. Together, their team has collaborated on music projects with Afrobeats Star Tems, Reggae Artist Sizzla, Kalonji, Soca King Machel Montano, plus many others.

She is now the Founder of Music Business Principles, a program geared at targeting upcoming talents using psychological methods to create positive business ethics and increased entertainment industry standards, using the influence of music.

Alysecia Cunningham

Alyscia Cunningham is an award-winning author, filmmaker, tactile artist, and photographer who has contributed to the Smithsonian, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and AOL. After the success of her first book, FEMININE TRANSITIONS, a photography book with portraits of raw feminine beauty, Cunningham produced I AM MORE THAN MY HAIR, a book and documentary film. It includes interviews with women who’ve experienced hair loss due to a health- related condition and their journey of self-empowerment to see beauty beyond the media’s standards. With the completion and direction provided through fellowships, labs, and workshops with Stowe, Sundance Institute, and Women of Color Filmmakers, Alyscia has written and directed horror and thriller films.

Alyscia is the Founder of Her House Media a media company hat produces documentary and horror films by and about women of color. She is a TEDx speaker, has been recognized as Forbes ‘The Next 1000 (2021), and an award recipient of the American Express 100 for 100 Program. She is also one of the FrontLine Voices for Stop the Beauty Madness, a

campaign focused on changing the dynamics of beauty globally. Her work has been featured in the Huffington Post,Cosmopolitan, The Washington Post, Fox 5, and ABC 7.

Alyscia also founded Brown Women in the Arts, a supportive group for creative BIPOC women working in the arts industry, and co-organized Reel Moms, a supportive community for working moms and caregivers in the film and TV industry, in partnership with Women in Film and Video. Her goal is to continue producing documentary and narrative films and photo books.

Karisma Jay

True to her name, Brooklyn-native, Karisma Jay, MFA is the epitome of Multi-Hyphenate. As an award-winning performing artist, Dancer, Actress, Singer, Director, Playwright, Choreographer, Wellness Coach, Teacher, Entrepreneur and Host, she has performed/toured with prestigious dance companies and been featured on Broadway. She has been featured in The New York Times, Dance Teacher Magazine, Ebony, MadameNoire, The Daily News, PIX11 News and programs aired on Netflix, Lifetime, BET, MTV, NBC, and VH1.

In 2013, Karisma joined STOMP. In 2016, Family Circle magazine coined her a “Local Hero” and Lifetime TV featured her as a Female Entrepreneur to Watch for her work as CEO of AbunDance Academy, AbunDance Gear and AbunDance Studios. Annually, she writes, directs, produces and co-stars in musicals that her organization, AbunDance Academy, presents.

Currently, she teaches West African, Hip-Hop and Diasporic forms at The Juilliard School, Ballet Tech, Broadway Dance Center and LaGuardia HS. She is a Dance Teacher Magazine’s 2021 Dance Teacher Awardee and a recipient of Assembly member Brian Cunningham’s 2023 Woman of Distinction Award. In May 2023, she premiered CROWN, a short film she co-directed and co-wrote, a celebration of black hair, black dance and black love. Zillah Duzon-Hazel

Zillah Duzon Hazel is a Fashion designer, surface pattern designer, mural Artist, wife, mother and entrepreneur She hails from the beautiful and unique Island of St. Maarten that is shared by both the Dutch and French.

As a little girl, at the tender age of five (5), Zillah knew she would one day become a fashion designer, and after following the Design & Styling program at the Amsterdam Fashion institute she officially launched her women’s clothing brand, in the Netherlands, called “Jolie Duzon” on April 6, 2013.

The unique aspect of Zillah’s fashion creations are her eye-catching, bold, colorful prints which are first hand-painted, then digitized and finally printed on various types of fabrics to create attention-grabbing clothing designs.

Her inspiration is drawn from the island St. Maarten and its beautiful surroundings, the nature, the climate, the lifestyle, colors and landscapes are all inspirations for her and can be seen in the prints and patterns she creates.

The Jamaican-born Music Executive is the owner and founder of Tastemaker, a creative music marketing and consulting agency that offers a comprehensive, full-service 360 approach to help brands and artistes elevate their value in the dynamic world of entertainment.
