Dr. Shakima Stoutt-Ottley

Entrepreneur and Dermatologist, Dr. Shakima Stoutt-Ottley is the CEO of BrivaDERM Dermatology, Aesthetics &; Pharmacy. She is also the owner of Lift Head Spa & Aesthetics; the first and premier head spa in the Caribbean. Lift Head Spa is a therapeutic salon that provides services geared toward a rejuvenating balance of the scalp, body and soul because a healthy scalp is the root to healthier hair. Dr. Stoutt-Ottley is the pioneer and inventor of the medical-grade skin care line, Brevíve Skin Health.

She is uniquely passionate about the aging and hormonal impact on hair which often result in hair loss and thinning. With this in mind, she formulated an antiaging hair care line that targets and treats signs of hair loss while restoring hair hydration and
microbiome balance on the scalp; get to know KSO Silk Rejuvenating Rituals. She has a quiet intrigue in renewable energy and in partnership with her amazing husband, have launched an energy storage project called SoLynk VI.

Dr. Stoutt-Ottley possesses undergraduate degrees from HLSCC, UVI and UWI Mona. She holds a medical degree from UWI Mona and a post grad in Dermatology from Boston University School of Medicine. Dermatology Specialty Certification from the Royal College of Physicians is also one of her greatest achievements.

Dr. Stoutt-Ottley returned to her homeland, the British Virgin Islands in 2015 and has served the wider Virgin Islands and Antigua & Barbuda with her joy of dermatology.

 

Kavelle Hylton

Kavelle Hylton is a certified STEM Educator and Education Technology Entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in STEM education and training. She is the Founder and CEO of STEM Builders Learning Hub, where she works with students at all levels of the education system through workshops and extensive community engagements, enriching schools and facilitating the professional development of educators. Her commitment extends to marginalized communities, as evidenced by her hosting of the inaugural STEM Career Expo for Adolescent Mothers from the Women’s Centre of Jamaica and spearheading numerous projects benefiting the Lister Mair/Gilby School for the Deaf. On her journey to transform the STEM education landscape in the Caribbean, she has received several awards and accolades including; HerFlow Foundation Unsung Shero award, the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Fellowship, JMMB Accelerator, Development Bank of Jamaica IGNITE Recipient, Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) alumni and pitch competition winner, Jamaica Business Development Corporation
(JBDC) and Jamaica Stock exchange social enterprise pitch competition winner and the Micropitch Caribbean Jamaica award.

Ms. Hylton is also an MPhil/Ph.D. science education student at the University of the West Indies, the former coordinator for the Science and Technology Education Unit at the Scientific Research Council (SRC), a children’s book author and a certified master trainer. Describing herself as driven, she finds reward in empowering others. Her motivation lies in creating positive change. Ultimately, she wishes for a more equitable and prosperous Jamaica, where every individual has access to quality education and opportunities.
