As the Caribbean braced for the onslaught of impending hurricanes,  Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Puerto Rico were among those to feel the impact of Hurricane Fiona. Hurricane Fiona hit some parts of Puerto Rico with over 30 inches of rain. In some areas, some 12 to 20 inches of rainfall resulted in the declaration of a public health emergency due to flooding. Fiona left 345,000 customers in Puerto Rico without power. Organizations like Food For The Poor stepped in to provide aid for families struggling to deal with the devastating flooding and mudslides.

On September 27th in New York the Puerto Rocksteady /PRS Staff led by hip hop dance icon, Crazy Legs with support by friend DJ Toney Touch – put together an amazing lineup of performers and DJs to bring the NYC Puerto Rican Community together for a party to benefit Puerto Rico. The event at Chelsea Music Hall in Manhattan was a collaborative effort that included: legendary B-boy, Crazy Legs,  Tony Touch, Puerto Rico Rob, Jeff Sanchez, James Cruz, Danny Castro, Dominos by Capicu, Angel Deleon, Tenile Jimenez, and Mr. Freeze.

The benefit portion of the event ran from 6 to 9 pm with funds generated by the $30 ticket sales being donated to the relief effort. Onstage, performances by: CJ, Nina Sky, Nems, K7, and special guest Edgar Berlanga kept the energy high.  The music throughout the night was powered by a stellar lineup of DJs including DJ Louie Vega, DJ Lucho, DJ G-Bo The Pro, DJ Camilo, DJ Prostyle, DJ Envy, DJ Rey-Mo, DJ Self, DJ Statik Selektah, DJ Clue, DJ Tahleim. The event for the evening was hosted D-Stroy. Overall a great event and a great show of love for Puerto Rico.
