The Grenadian artist becomes the sole voice from the Spice Isle featured in Spotify’s celebration of 60 years of Notting Hill Carnival.
Grenada is having a moment on the global Soca stage — and V’ghn is carrying the flag.
And if we’re being completely POSH about it, we simply can’t get enough of V’ghn’s spicy charm. From his soulful vocals and infectious energy to the unmistakable Grenadian flavor he brings to the stage, the Spice Isle artist continues to give us plenty to pay attention to.
Now, that charm is getting an even bigger international spotlight.
The Grenadian singer, songwriter and producer has been selected as the only Grenadian recording artist featured in Spotify’s 2026 Carnival Sounds campaign, joining a landmark celebration of Caribbean music and the 60th anniversary of Notting Hill Carnival in the United Kingdom.
As the campaign’s Soca representative, V’ghn will be featured across Spotify’s digital platforms and on billboards in major UK cities, including London and Manchester — putting not only his artistry, but Grenada’s growing musical influence, in front of an international audience.
This year, Spotify is expanding Carnival Sounds with a live performance series spotlighting three Caribbean genres: Reggae, Soca and Dancehall. Each featured artist reimagines a heritage track, connecting the music’s roots with a new generation of listeners.
For his contribution, V’ghn selected “Hello” by Kes of KestheBand, bringing his own soulful Spice Isle energy to the Soca favorite.
“Being selected by Spotify to represent Soca music in a campaign celebrating 60 years of Notting Hill Carnival is an incredible honour,” V’ghn shared. “To be the only Grenadian artist featured this year makes it even more meaningful. I’m proud to carry the heart and soul of Grenada with me onto this platform.”

From St. Mark’s to the World
Born Jevaughn John and raised in St. Mark’s, Grenada, V’ghn’s musical roots began in church, influenced by his father, a bass guitarist. His rise has since taken him far beyond the Spice Isle.
At just 16, he became the youngest artist to place in the top three of a Caribbean Soca Monarch competition with “Charge Up.” He later earned 2nd Runner-Up at the 2018 International Groovy Soca Monarch in Trinidad and Tobago with “Trouble in the Morning,” before capturing Grenada’s 2019 Groovy Monarch title.
Along the way, V’ghn has collaborated with Caribbean heavyweights including the late Dexter “Blaxx” Stewart, Konshens, Christopher Martin, Skinny Fabulous, Patrice Roberts and Nadia Batson, while performing in markets from Japan and Dubai to London.
His Spotify recognition arrives as another major chapter unfolds. V’ghn is preparing to release a highly anticipated EP and, on August 25, will bring his signature Unplugged experience to London alongside Vincentian Soca star Skinny Fabulous.
For Caribbean artists, moments like this matter beyond individual success. They reflect a larger shift: Soca is increasingly finding space on global platforms while remaining rooted in the islands, rhythms and communities that created it.
And for Grenada, V’ghn’s visibility offers something equally powerful — another opportunity for the world to discover the creative talent coming out of the Spice Isle.
From “Jab Decisions” and “Soca Nice” to “Closer” featuring Patrice Roberts and “Jabaholic,” V’ghn has consistently blended contemporary Soca with the unmistakable energy of Grenadian culture and Jab Jab.
Now, with Spotify amplifying that sound across the UK, he is helping push Grenadian Soca further beyond its traditional boundaries.
The sound is Caribbean. The stage is global. And Grenada is very much in the spotlight.
